Come join us.</p></div><h2><strong>Lead compliant global trade operations as an Associate Manager, Customs in EMEA.</strong></h2> <p><strong>The opportunity:</strong></p> <p>The Customs team at Flexport is critical to our mission of making global trade easier for everyone. As an Associate Manager, Customs in the Netherlands, you will lead a dedicated team responsible for ensuring the seamless and compliant movement of goods across borders. You will work closely with clients, carriers, and internal operations teams, navigating the complexities of customs regulations specific to the EMEA region. This is a unique opportunity to drive significant impact, optimize processes, and mentor a team, all while solving real-world challenges in a fast-paced, highly regulated industry.</p> <p><strong>You will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Customs Specialists, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.</li> <li>Oversee daily customs brokerage operations, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and strict adherence to EMEA customs regulations.</li> <li>Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational workflows and client experience.</li> <li>Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, operations, and product teams to resolve complex customs issues and support strategic initiatives.</li> <li>Serve as an escalation point for complex customs declarations and regulatory inquiries, providing expert guidance.</li> <li>Monitor key performance indicators and drive initiatives to meet or exceed operational targets and compliance standards.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You should have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>5+ years of experience in customs brokerage, trade compliance, or a related field within the logistics industry.</li> <li>Proven experience leading and managing a team, with a focus on coaching and development.</li> <li>In-depth knowledge of EMEA customs regulations, tariffs, and trade agreements.</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes.</li> <li>Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.</li> <li>A 'compliance first' attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.</li> </ul> <p><strong>You will get:</strong></p> <ul> <li>An opportunity to contribute to one of the fastest-growing companies, where you’ll have the chance to create a global impact while being a part of a thriving multinational environment </li> <li>Daily catered lunches incl. vegetarian options, breakfast, snacks and soft drinks available in our office on daily basis </li> <li>Commute expenses: Flexport will cover home-office commuting costs for employees living outside of Amsterdam</li> <li>Amazing office in the heart of Amsterdam. </li> <li>25 working days as vacation days based on full time employment.</li> <li>Health insurance: Flexport offers a collective health insurance plan including a basic package and any available additional packages.
